There
are three basic
principles behind all
recycling programs.
Reduce the volume of
waste generated whenever
possible, Reuse
items whenever possible
(including transitioning
some practices from
disposable back to
reusable) and Recycle
any items where there is
an option to reprocess,
which extends the useful
life of the item and
eliminates it from the
disposal volume.
Some examples are
below: |
• |
Regulated medical waste
containers reusable
versus corrugated boxes |
• |
Sharp
containers reusable
versus disposable
plastic containers |
• |
Suction

versus disposable
plastic |
• |

• |
Recycle

shipping it offsite for
disposal |
